This spring brought a bit of warm rain and a great class! As always, I met great students with different skill sets and life experiences. I always try to find out who students are, what they have done in the past, and try to help them as best as I can when they are in my class to be successful. Right at the beginning of my class and as I began to silently gauge each student I began to notice the sense of humor of a few students. As the class progressed I noticed the overall positive effect that this brought to myself (of course stressed) and to the class as a whole. Maybe it was luck or maybe it was due to “breaking the ice” by a few students but this class overall was full of positivity, laughter, and kindness. Students were determined, thankful, reflective, and so much fun.

2017 March

After a week of rain and a small S-SW swell that rolled I had hoped some clean water...and I (we) got it! The first day was a bit "iffy" but after going a bit deeper we found some decent water. The next day the water was flat and whale approved. My students were eager to learn and were stoked when they overcame obstacles and met new personal bests.

Congrats guys you know you deserved it (no luck of the Irish needed).
